Maria Panagiotidou was born and raised in Athens. She studied at the Department of Social Work at TEI of Athens and continued her postgraduate studies at the Department of Statistics at the Athens University of Economics and Business. She has also completed two postgraduate training cycles in “Counselling and Vocational Guidance” and “Management and social planning in the field of drug addiction.” She has been trained abroad as “trainer of trainers” mainly through non-formal learning. This period she continues studying for the qualification of educational animator. Since 2002 she has worked in various institutions that support immigrants and refugees as a social worker and since 2006 she is training staff at KETHEA MOSAIC, the Therapy Center for Dependent Individuals that supports therapeutically immigrants and refugees, drug users or not. In her spare time she is a volunteer at Asante, an organization founded by second generation immigrants. She is also interested in art.
